LIV Aveda Salon & Spa owners Tami and Tim Tupy look forward to a long-term relationship with the local American Cancer Society. In addition to donating part of their grand opening retail sales, they have scheduled a cut-a-thon on June 24 with proceeds benefiting the Relay For Life. "The American Cancer Society and Aveda both agree that personal wellness is key to a healthy lifestyle," said co-owner Tami Tupy. "That's why we've decided to get involved in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Blue Earth County- Mankato." LIV Aveda will celebrate its grand opening on April 30 by providing people an opportunity to indulge their mind and body during evening tours, demonstrations and educational sessions from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. LIV Aveda is located at 1839 Adams Street, next to the Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Mankato. "I challenge all Mankato businesses to follow LIV AVEDA's lead. As a cancer survivor, I am impressed with the level of local business involvement in our Relay For Life every year," said local volunteer leader Pam DeMarce. "Today, we're not talking about 'if' we find a cure for cancer but 'when.' It's exciting to know we're making a difference." This year's Relay For Life is July 19-20 at Ray Erlandson Park in Mankato, Minn. Funds raised by the American Cancer Society Relay For Life will be used for cancer research, education, advocacy and service - programs that will help the American Cancer Society reach its ultimate goal of eliminating cancer.
